The beautiful countryside of the South Downs in Sussex
“Love and a red rose cannot be hid” Ray Evens.
I love a traditional white wedding, and this is what Nick & Julie had, filled with posh frocks, smart suits, and glamour inside and out. They tied the knot at the White Swan Hotel in Arundel surrounded by their friends and family.
Scattered red rose petals cascaded down the aisle. A harp softly played, as people took their seats. Awaiting the arrival of Nick's blushing bride, dressed in a very dapper blue three-piece suit.
Julie and her bridesmaids had a wonderful morning of bridal prep. I love this stage of the day because it’s a real bonding time for the bride and the closest female friends and family. Her bridesmaids looked gorgeous in dark blue chiffon gowns, with flowing sleeves. Julie looked stunning, in her aline, diamante embroidered gown. Clutching her bouquet of bright red roses. The couple's faces were lit up as they exchanged their vows. Making their lifetime promise to each other. They sat together and signed the register, at this point I was able to get some great shots of them. With again the pinnacle red roses, displayed out on the registry table. As they walked down the aisle, for the first time as husband and wife, red rose petals were thrown up high.
The couple and their guests exited into the courtyard, where they were catered with delicious canapes and arrival drinks. This was the time for Nick and his new bride to explore their reception area. I took this moment to photograph in detail, all the decors. Including their very unique Mickey and Mini three tier wedding cake. After which, I took the couple back into the courtyard to get their couple shots. It was a gloriously sunny day, which was perfect. My favourite image of them together must be a shot where Nick is holding Julie from behind, holding onto her waist, he is kissing her on the neck and she’s giggling and just looking so incredibly happy. I love it when I'm able to catch such a natural shot as this. It was at this point, also where I got some great pictures of Nick and his groomsmen. One, where Nick is looking at the camera, with his best men on either side, looking towards Nick on the brink of laughter.
Once the formal photos were over, guests were greeted with a wonderful reception full of yummy food and drink. The speeches were made, including a very humorous speech by Julie’s father, who was partnered with a plastic parrot (you had to have been there).
The day continued with dancing in the courtyard, with a beautiful first dance and many group photos of all their family and friends, celebrating the couple's love.
It was a beautiful day and I adored being part of it. I wish Nick and Julie a lifetime of happiness together, they’re a wonderful couple.
