Romantic couples photoshoot at Brighton
“Soulmate definition: Someone who understands you like no other, loves you like no other and will always be there for you no matter what”.
It was a beautiful day at Stanmer Park when I shot Peter & Elizabeth’s engagement shoot. The Stanmer woods are such a tranquil, idyllic setting for an event like this. It was so wonderful following Elizabeth & Peter through their wedding journey and that day in the woods, was such a perfect moment which encapsulated their love for each other. My favourite image from the shoot is a black and white shot of Elizabeth resting her head on Peter’s shoulder, her eyes are closed and she just looks so peaceful and content in that moment. It was a crisp early spring morning and I loved the contrast of Elizabeth in her black leather & jean jacket and Peter in his red and blue checkered lumberjack shirt. It created a really pleasing texture in the images, in both colour and black and white.
The setting of Stanmer woods is such a historic and fairy-tale setting for romance and we really played around with levels in the shoot, some of Elizabeth sat down on a tree stump and Peter standing tall beside her, or similar but then gazing into each other’s eyes. The images came out effortlessly and it really captured their ease and closeness around each other.
My favourite pose has to be the black and white shots of the couple embracing, their faces close together in the forefront and the vast field as the backdrop. They just look so besotted and it’s a gorgeous sight.
I had such a wonderful time doing this shoot and Elizabeth & Peter’s love for each other made the session run so smoothly. If you’ve recently become engaged and are looking for some pictures to capture the special time. Reach out to me at info@darrengrittonphotography.com for more info.
