The best places to get married in Sussex
The best part of a wedding is the venue and choosing your venue is the trickiest part of the planning process. There are so many little things you need to think about.... So I have decided to create a blog of my top 7 wedding venues in Sussex. All of them are unique and there is a real mix. Whether you’re planning a handmade wedding or looking for a venue that does it all. This blog will guide you through some fantastic wedding venues, which will utterly inspire you.
Field Place
Set in the idyllic countryside just outside of the bustling town of Worthing. Field Place is one of my favourite venues to photograph a wedding at. The venue gives couples a huge choice of wedding style. Whether you’re looking to find a venue to host your big white wedding, with traditional table settings of blush and sage. Or you’re hoping for something a little more unique. The team at Field Place will provide you with the best advice with a complete bespoque treatment on your big day. With the manor house and barns, you’re spoilt with choice on how to tailor your wedding at Field Place. Surrounded by stunning gardens with fountains and wildflowers blooming in abundance. This 18th Century, Grade II Listed Manor House will provide your wedding with a grand edge to it which will stun your guests.
Farbridge Wedding Barn
The next venue on my list is one which provides the full package for creating that perfect wedding weekend. Not only is Farbridge Barn an exquisite venu, with a stunning antompshereic ceremony barn where couples can say their “ I do’s” but it also has in-house chefs which provide mouth- watering bespoke menus for your guests with locally and home grown produce. Whether you’re looking for a formal sit down three course meal, or a more relaxed sharing platter, feasting table experience. These chefs will work with you and your other half to create a menu of your dreams. The other wonderful part of this venue is the selection of luxurious rooms which you and your guests can stay in. Why let the festivities only last for one day, at Farbridge Wedding Barn you can have a weekend long wedding full of comfort and moorish delights.
Buxted Park Hotel
This next venue has stepped right out of a Jane Austen Novel, Buxted Park Hotels’ stately exterior will have your buckling at the knees. Dating back to the 1722 Buxted Park has a magnificent history hosting the likes of William Wordworth and Winston Churchill. Get married like royalty in this splendid hotel. At Buxted Park Hotel your wedding experience will be awe-inspiring with forty-two bedrooms and seven suites. This venue is suited for the largest of weddings with splendid high ceilings dressed with chandeliers, you will be captivated by all of it’s elegant details. As well as treated like royalty by the wonderfully attentive staff. It is the perfect venue for a fairytale wedding.
Selden Barns
Set within 50 acres of picturesque Sussex countryside, Selden Barns provides couples with the ideal venue for an intimate wedding. With a selection of barns for the ceremony and reception, alongside barns to hire for accommodation. Selden is there to provide you with all of the essentials and luxuries to make your day perfect. Selden also gives room for creative flair for their couples, the barns give you the space to decorate to your heart's content. Selden Barns also provide a fantastic catering service, with creative flexibility to give you a tailored experience for your big day.
Patricks Barn
A 17th century barn on a farm in West Sussex near Ardingly, this gorgeous barn is the best setting for a non-traditional style wedding. If you’re looking for a venue to create your handmade wedding then this is it! Surrounded by beautiful countryside with cattle and sheep, this barn with it’s impressive high beamed ceilings, provides couples with a blank canvas for creating their dream barn wedding. My favourite part of this venue is their 400 year old oak tree where vows can be made.
Worthing Dome
This next venue is iconic, this unique venue will stand your wedding out from the rest. This bold and historic building will provide your wedding with class. Set on the Worthing seafront, it’ll be a wonderful place for your wedding photos. Just imagine it, you and your newly wed, sunset on the sea, creating that distinctive wedding shot. My favourite part of this venue is it’s unusual octagonal space at the top of the building called the Whispering Gallery where you can choose to tie the knot.

Fitzleroi Barn
This 400 hundred year old barn has been the setting for many weddings over the years, but it still stays as a unique delight for every couple it hosts. Surrounded by rolling West Sussex countryside, this barn dressed with dark oak beams is the perfect traditional wedding venue. This exquisite venue embodies romance, with it’s twinkling lights and beautiful round tables, which can be dressed to each couples taste. I believe the greatest part of this venue is the attentive service you get from the team. This family run wedding business adores hosting weddings and provides each couple with such a nurturing experience throughout their wedding planning process. They have an abundance of advice and recommendations for local suppliers. They know what they’re doing when it comes to weddings.
